Note there are 2 models of drivers used by JBL Everest 750 as shown in product pictures, the soldering panel and the color of coil are different. They are of exactly same sound character and quality. 

Know about original JBL Elite 750NC

The Everest Elite 750NC’s 40 mm drivers reproduce a broad frequency response between 10Hz and 22kHz, which is out of human hearing range at both ends of the audio spectrum. The sound gamut is vast, which, coupled with powerful lower frequencies, makes listening to pop and rock music feel very powerful and explosive, creating a very pleasing listening experience when listening to music and watching movies. While the bass is strong, it is not so strong that it affects the mid-range instruments and human voices, the mids and trebles can be clearly noticed. Admittedly, the sound quality of the JBL Everest Elite 750NC is superb, favoring the lower frequencies overall. Naturally, the Bass EQ can also be adjusted by the user in the application. Thankfully, the JBL Everest Elite 750NC’s EQ enhances some of the mids and highs to make the sound powerful. Adaptive noise cancellation works well with the JBL Everest Elite 750NC, and although you will still hear a slight hiss when it is activated, you will still be able to enjoy the music and the diminished ambient sounds. Moreover, the JBL Everest Elite 750NC also features Ambient Aware, a convenient feature that increases awareness and allows you to listen to music and other people’s voices simultaneously without any distractions.

DIY suggestions (Sound fine tune)

Original JBL Elite 750NC drivers are tuned to closed back and small-medium chamber size. So if your headphone is also closed back and of similar size (most low-mid end Bluetooth headphones are like this), you may simply replace the old drivers. 

However, if you plane to use these drivers in open back cups (e.g., with our open back Grado GS2000/3000e, PS1000e kits), you have to tune it and let the bass out.

Step 1, locate the hole (in black circle) at the back side of the driver, which is covered by the white gauze.

Step 2, remove the gauze on the hole and you get below.

You can use the tip of your soldering icon to burn it open, but be very careful not to hurt the diaphragm down below!  If you want more bass, you can open up the 1 more hole.

Note: the dynamic drivers have been paired to ensure sound and quality fully balanced between right and left channels. Therefore we don’t offer single unit.  

Soldering: overheated (>250 degree C) soldering iron or overtime soldering (>2s) may permanently damage the driver. Please managed down both in your DIY. 

• Installation: the driver has Sintered NdFeB Magnetic inside with extremely strong attraction power. Damage may caused by attracting anything hitting the fragile diaphragm. 
• Others: applying high-voltage, storing in high temperature/humidity environment… all may cause unrecoverable damage.
